It’s a local favorite for crabbing, fishing, and shrimping along the shoreline—and it also happens to be one of the best spots around to catch a rocket launch with an unobstructed view. For beach lovers, a quick 20-minute drive brings you to the stunning Playalinda Beach (Spanish for “pretty beach”), located within the Canaveral National Seashore. Ryen & Christine Bean, Urban Pioneers
Christine Bean is a proud Native Floridian, born at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida. When she was just six months old, her family made the move to Titusville, a place that would become her lifelong home. Raised under the warm Florida sun and surrounded by the natural beauty and rich history of the Space Coast, Christine developed deep roots in the community from an early age. Her love for the area runs generations deep, and her connection to Titusville is more than just geography—it’s home in every sense of the word.
Ryen Bean’s journey to Titusville began a little farther north. Born in Ohio, he moved with his family to Florida in 1981. Drawn by the excitement and promise of the U.S. space program, Ryen's family settled in Titusville during a pivotal era in the town’s history. The shuttle program was booming, and the energy of innovation and exploration was in the air. Growing up alongside the launch pads and rocket trails, Ryen became a witness to the evolution of the Space Coast and found inspiration in the pioneering spirit that defined it. Together, Ryen and Christine represent a blend of deep-rooted local heritage and adventurous spirit. As self-proclaimed Urban Pioneers, they are passionate about contributing to the revitalization and growth of their beloved hometown. Through dedication, hard work, and a love for community, they’ve made it their mission to honor the past while helping shape the future of Titusville.
